Penn Jillette of Pen and Teller lost 100lbs by eating differently (see: How Penn Jillette Lost over 100 Lbs and Still Eats Whatever He Wants) I tie this back to Jordan Peterson’s Clean Up Your Room or Admirl William McRaven Making your Bed talks. In the end you have to make up your mind to make yourself better.
So I have now lost about 20lbs in 6 weeks. What have I learned is as follows:
- Just like school semesters it takes about 6 weeks to learn how to change. I learned that the fist two weeks hurts. I learn that making my own bed means being willing to look in the mirror and say … yep your are ugly
- I have learn to take small bites. For example, some people say work out some people say eat this others say eat that. What I have been doing is just focusing on my diet. for the first 4 weeks I did not work out… I just make a Vegan meal according to what Joel Fuhrman, MD and Caldwell B. Esselstyn Jr., MD prescribed. Why them … well they are doctors and they seem to speek to me through youtube. I guess we all have to find the people we will listen to.
- I have learn so far that my bed is messy … and king sized… and it takes more than placing a sheet on my bed to make it right.
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
I am that hypocrite… I will strive to be better.
